We read Bad Dog, Dodger this week. It‘s a story about a boy named Sam and his poorly behaved puppy. I just happen to have two such puppies at home, so we got to meet Sophie and Beau this afternoon.

We‘ve enjoyed reviewing some tricky math skills with fun games and activities this week. I love those moments when everyone is engaged, learning, and having a great time!

Book Weather!
This blizzard makes me want to be at home reading a book! This is a reminder that the Scholastic book orders sent home a week ago are due back at school by Wednesday, February 22. A home library is one of the best ways to grow a reader. Stay safe and warm, and happy reading in this storm!

What are you reading to your child this week?
"Read to your child until he's five - the love of reading will not survive. Read to your child until he's ten - the love of reading will never end." -Gary Johnston
Reading at home each night doesn't have to be a chore. Snuggle up on the couch, turn off the TV, and spend a few minutes sharing a good book with your child. This precious time will make the difference between a lifetime of struggle to read and a lifetime of loving to read.

The Quilt Story
This week we read The Quilt Story. The only thing better than reading a book on a Friday afternoon is reading a book under a warm quilt.
