Whew! What a day!

Today was a great first day!  I am so excited about my class this year!  Even with the unexpected events of the day, we had a great time together.  A huge thank you to our parents for working with us to get everyone safely home this afternoon.  The kids were amazing!  This is going to be such a fun, hard-working bunch!  (And I won't mind one bit if Day 2 is just slightly less eventful!)

It's Official!

Letters with your testing time went out yesterday!  I am so excited to have a great new group of second graders, and the classroom is almost ready!  Your letter includes a testing time for a morning next week.  You can bring your supplies at that time, and we'll get settled!  After we do some reading together, we'll browse the classroom library to fill your book bag with great books to begin reading on the very first day of school.  Can't wait to see you!

Welcome to Second Grade!

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!  This is going to be a fantastic year, and I can't wait to get started.  School begins for MES on Monday, August 29th.  Individual testing will take place the preceding week, and you'll receive a letter in the mail to let you know the date and time and who your child's teacher will be.  Can't wait to see you!  In the meantime, enjoy the fair and keep reading!
