Our Spelling and Phonics Program
     We use the VoWAC (Vowel-oriented Word Attack Course) Spelling and Phonics program.  This program uses specific, explicit instruction in the six types of syllables and helps guide students through the process of constructing sounds.  The spelling program uses 14 words each week that follow a recently-learned spelling pattern.  It also includes two high-frequency sight words each week.  A short dictation paragraph helps to reinforce correct paragraph and sentence structure.
